Golf Roundup: Two share lead at The Barclays
Sunday, August 30, 2009

Steve Marino gets another shot at his first PGA Tour victory after running off three consecutive birdies at Liberty National for a 3-under 68 to share the lead with Paul Goydos at The Barclays in Jersey City, N.J.

Marino lost in a playoff at Colonial and was tied for the 36-hole lead with Tom Watson at the British Open. He will be in the final pairing with Goydos, whose previous win came at the Sony Open two years ago.

On a course soft from rain and playing 355 yards shorter with tees moved forward, Goydos also had a 68. They were at 9-under 204, two shots ahead of rookie Webb Simpson (72) and Fredrik Jacobson (68).

Still in the hunt was Tiger Woods, who made enough birdie putts and two good par saves for a 67 that put him within five shots of the lead in the first playoff event for the FedEx Cup.
