Kate Gosselin to sub on 'The View'
Thursday, August 27, 2009

ABC is adding Kate Gosselin to the list of guest co-hosts for "The View."

Celebrity mom Gosselin will be subbing for regular "View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Sept. 14 and 15. Hasselbeck is on maternity leave after giving birth to her third child, Isaiah, earlier this month.

Gosselin, the mother of twins and sextuplets, co-stars with her estranged husband on TLC's reality series "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

ABC has previously announced Meghan McCain, E.D. Hill and LaToya Jackson as guest co-hosts for the daytime talk show. (Associated Press)

A&E follows Jacksons

The A&E network said Tuesday its previously announced documentary about members of the Jackson family will be expanded into a reality series.

A&E's official word came only after "Entertainment Tonight" declared the Jackson series was a go.

But beyond acknowledging its plans for a series, A&E furnished no details. No premiere date or number of episodes has been specified.

The original special, which the cable channel announced last May, focuses on brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon Jackson as they prepare to reunite for a concert tour.

Initial filming wrapped in June before the death of Michael Jackson, but he didn't participate in the production, said network spokesman Dan Silberman.

Abdul hosts 'Divas'

Paula Abdul will see familiar faces when she hosts the "VH1 Divas" concert -- former "American Idol" winners Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks are among the singers.

The special, which also includes Adele, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus, will air live on Sept. 17.

Abdul has been filling in her dance card with work since Twittering her decision to quit as an "American Idol" judge. Besides the VH1 concert, she has filmed an appearance on Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva."

Producer-judge Nigel Lythgoe of Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" expressed interest in an Abdul cameo on the show, and ABC programming chief Stephen McPherson said he has been in touch with her.

But Abdul has yet to announce a steady job to replace the hit singing contest, which she left amid contract negotiations. (AP)
