Description: CCAC is a two-year college that offers associate's degrees. Boyce is one of four campuses, along with Allegheny (North Side), North (McCandless) and South (West Mifflin). There also are six centers: Bethel Park, Braddock Hills, Downtown Pittsburgh, Homewood-Brushton, Washington County, West Hills (North Fayette).

Penn State Greater Allegheny

Established: in 1934; moved to its current site in 1956

Description: Formerly known as Penn State McKeesport, the campus offers associate's and some bachelor's degrees. Students also can complete two years of work for almost all of Penn State's 160-plus bachelor's degree programs. It is one of the university's 19 Commonwealth campuses.

Penn State New Kensington

Pitt-Greensburg

Description: Pitt-Greensburg, one of four regional campuses of the University of Pittsburgh, offers 20 degree programs and numerous pre-professional programs. The other campuses are in Johnstown, Titusville and Bradford.

Saint Vincent College

Description: Founded by Archabbot Boniface Wimmer, Saint Vincent is a coed, liberal arts, Catholic college that was all-male until 1983. It was the first Benedictine school in the United States.

Seton Hill University

Description: This Catholic university was all-women's Seton Hill College until 2002, when it became a coed university. It has 42 undergraduate programs and 11 graduate programs. A pre-osteopathic medicine program has been implemented this semester, through Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Westmoreland County Community College

Description: WCCC, as the school is commonly recognized, is a two-year college that offers associate's degrees in arts and applied science. It has eight off-campus facilities: Bushy Run Center, Export; Laurel Center, Latrobe; Mon Valley Center, Belle Vernon; New Kensington Center; Fayette, Greene and Indiana county centers; and Public Training Center, Smithton (noncredit courses for fire, police and emergency services).
