Rubicon Aviation Training and Consulting Inc. named Mongezi S. Nkomo, director of community, corporate and government affairs in Africa.

Education

The state Senate has confirmed three nominees as members of California University's Council of Trustees until 2015. James T. Davis, attorney; Annette D. Ganassi, president, Ganassi Foundation; and Larry Maggi, chairman of the Washington County Board of Commissioners.

Health & Medicine

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center appointed Marianne Dayhoff as respiratory therapist.

Dr. James E. Wilberger Jr., was named chairman of the department of neurosurgery at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Wilberger is professor and chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, the western regional campus of Drexel University College of Medicine. He also is director of the hospital's neurosurgical residency training program and director of neurosurgery for the West Penn Allegheny Health System, where he also serves as vice president for graduate medical education and co-director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program.

Dr. William P. Follansbee, professor of medicine and radiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and director of nuclear cardiology at the UPMC Cardiovascular Institute, was selected as the inaugural master clinician chair in cardiovascular medicine at the UPMC Cardiovascular Institute.

Ron Gribik and Brad Milliron were appointed co-CEOs, Concordia Medical Equipment.

Law

Cohen & Grigsby said attorney Susan Nesbet-Sikuta joined as an associate in the estates & trusts practice group in its Bonita Springs, Fla., office.

SMS-Elotherm named George Burnet general manager of North American operations.

Clear Channel Radio named Dennis Lamme president and market manager, Clear Channel Radio-Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force hired Erin O'Quinn, case manager; Susan Orr, communications liaison; and Ronald Smutny, development associate.

David Blenk was named executive vice president of corporate planning and business development, Gateway Rehabilitation Center.

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh named Sybil Lieberman, department director, AgeWell's independent adult services department, based at the JCC in Squirrel Hill; and Dan Garfinkel was named branch director of the JCC-South Hills.

The Allegheny Division of the American Liver Foundation named new board members to two-year terms on the division board starting Oct. 1: Dr. Rupam Sharan, gastroenterologist, Westmoreland Gastro Assoc.; Megan Dapp, communications associate, The Bravo Group, A Public Advocacy Firm, in Harrisburg; Dr. Kusum Tom, transplant surgeon, Allegheny General Hospital; Robert Garritano, professional speaker; Dino Persio, Smorto Persio Webb & McGill in Ebensburg.

The Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project named officers for its 2009-2010 board: President, Justin Lokay, political director for U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter 2010; vice president, D. Professional Services

Foundation Radiology Group appointed Dr. Christopher Olivia to its board. Dr. Olivia is president and CEO of West Penn Allegheny Health System.
