A Butler County man died this morning in a fall more than 40 feet at a constuction site in Washington County, Coroner S. Timothy Warco said.

Carl Beck, 29, of Butler, had been working at a construction site on Meadowlands Boulevard in North Strabane when he fell at 10:37 a.m. He was employed by C.A. Franc of Valencia, the coroner said.

Mr. Beck had been on a roof, 42 feet above ground, when he fell.

The coroner's office was contacted, but Mr. Beck already had been pronounced dead at the scene at 11:20 a.m.

The death has been ruled an accident.
