A Bedford County couple riding a motorcycle yesterday were killed when their bike was struck by a car traveling in the wrong direction on Interstate 99 in Bedford Township, state police said.

Christopher L. Lape, 36, and his passenger, Connie Lynn Feathers, 42, both of Osterburg, were struck at about 4:43 p.m. as they rode south on I-99 just south of Exit 3 in Bedford Township.

The car was driven by Dorothy Ann Lindemuth, 79, of Brockway.

State police had not determined yesterday how Ms. Lindemuth's Buick Park Avenue got onto the highway traveling in the wrong direction.

No charges have been filed, pending further investigation.
