An Indiana County man died after his truck caught fire early yesterday on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bedford County, state police said.

Rodger Lewis Green, 58, of Homer City, had been alone in his tractor-trailer truck parked on the westbound berm of the turnpike in Snake Spring.

About 5:50 a.m., another truck, driven west by David S. Kunkel, 53, of Berks County, veered off the highway and sideswiped Mr. Green's truck, police said.

The tractor portion of the parked rig caught fire, killing Mr. Green, police said.

No charges are expected.
