A man was killed yesterday while riding an all-terrain vehicle in Somerset County.

State police said Mark W. Hoffman, 27, of Somerset, was traveling south on Turkeyfoot Trail Road in Upper Turkeyfoot Township when he hit a culvert on the right side of the street near Glade Road and he lost control of his ATV shortly after 4 p.m. The ATV flipped several times and Mr. Hoffman was thrown from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
