Council Monday night voted not to extend the contract for tax collection with Central Tax Bureau of Pa.

The municipality will go back to using McMurray-based Jordan Tax Service effective Jan. 1.

"I have had more calls from residents in the last two-plus years with Central Tax than I had in 10 years with Jordan," said council President Tim Moury.

In January council made a motion to terminate its contract with Central Tax but decided to table the issue until this month on the advice of its solicitor.

Mr. Moury said the municipality's issues with Central Tax include its overall performance and customer service.

Central Tax collects earned income and property tax for the municipality.
