Thursday, July 16, 2009

Pitt sophomore Pepper Wilson has been forced to withdraw from USA Basketball's under-19 team due to minor knee surgery that revealed damage to the articular cartilage in her left knee.

Wilson, a 6-foot-6 center from Westinghouse High School, participated in trials May 15-17 at the Olympic Training Center, as the group was cut from 27 participants to the 14 finalists.

Wilson is out indefinitely, but is expected return for the start of fall practice.
