A woman was injured yesterday when she was struck by a University of Pittsburgh mini bus in Oakland.
The woman was hit by the bus at about 10:25 a.m. on Fifth Avenue between DeSoto and Lothrop streets.
Eyewitnesses told police Darlene Futrick, 60, of Coraopolis, was crossing the street when the bus turned from Oakland Avenue onto Fifth Avenue and struck her.
The bus driver, Pauletta Watts, 64, of Sheridan, told police she did not see Ms. Futrick until she looked, too late, in the side-view mirror.
Ms. Futrick was dazed and, during treatment at UPMC Presbyterian, she was unaware that she had been struck by the bus, police said.
Her condition was not immediately available.
