Mothers-in-law can fight back on their own YouTube channel

The mother-in-law vs. daughter-in-law conflict is as old as the institution of marriage. Patricia Weber has built the 11-year-old Mother-in-Law Hell Web site (http://motherinlawhell.com) around that epic battle. The site is a gathering place for the "daughter-in-law sisterhood," where women can exchange war stories and find some peer support and humor.

Now there's a "Mother-in-Law Hell" Web series with its own YouTube channel. Producer/actress Nancy Glass plays the mother-in-law in nasty style, and Rachel Gold is the daughter-in-law, who seems to be equally matched.

Weber is the writer for the series, and Glass is the producer.

Registration is open for this fall's PodCamp Pittsburgh 4.

The annual free event is a weekend's worth of workshops and sessions geared to people interested in social media at all levels -- from novices to experts.

Originally aimed at the tech crowd, it's now opened to anyone looking to use social media more effectively for business, educational, professional or personal applications.

When PodCamp launched here in 2006, it was focused on people involved in podcasting and Web video makers. Now it includes workshops and information for bloggers, Twitter/Facebook users and other social media.

The dates are Oct. 10 and 11 at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

Register online at the PodCamp Pittsburgh Web site (www.podcamppittsburgh.com).

For updates on speakers and sessions in the works, registrants can follow in advance on Twitter (@PCPGH) and on Facebook.
