Kolcraft Enterprises Inc. is recalling about 1 million Kolcraft, Carter's, Sesame Street, Jeep, Contours, Care Bear and Eric Carle play yards.
The play yard's side rail can fail to latch properly and when a child pushes against the rail it can unlatch unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard to children.
This recall involves the Kolcraft Travelin' Tot play yards, as well as other similar play yards manufactured for Carter's, Sesame Street, Jeep, Contours, Care Bare and Eric Carle. A list of model numbers is available at . Some of the units have a bassinet and/or changing table. Some models have a mobile, vibrating unit or a parent organizer. Babies R Us, Wal-Mart, Kmart, Sears, Target stores and Internet retailers sold the play yards from January 2000 through January 2009 for between $50 and $160.

American Greetings Corp. is recalling about 90,000 packages of sports balls.
The surface coating on the basketballs contains excessive levels of lead, in violation of the federal lead paint standard.
This recall involves DesignWare Sport Balls party favors. The package contains four mini sports balls: a basketball, a football, a baseball and a soccer ball. The model number is SPBL 1821 and is printed on the packaging.
Various retailers in the U.S. and Canada sold the balls from August 2004 through April 2009 for about $3.50.
Consumers should immediately take the recalled sports balls away from children and contact American Greetings to receive a coupon for a replacement product.

Wilton Industries Inc. is recalling about 142,000 Copco Harmony tea kettles.
The lids on the tea kettles can come loose during handling, posing a burn hazard to the consumer.
This recall involves the Copco Harmony tea kettles. The kettles come in stainless steel brushed and polished finishes and enamel finishes in red, white, black, turquoise, orange, yellow and blue. Copco tea kettles in other styles are not included in the recall.
Retailers nationwide sold the kettles from March 2006 through June 2009 for about $30.
Consumers with stainless tea kettles should contact Wilton for a free replacement lid. Consumers with enamel tea kettles should contact Wilton for a free replacement tea kettle or a refund.

Walter Kidde Portable Equipment Inc. is recalling about 94,000 Kidde Model PI2000 Dual Sensor smoke alarms.
An electrostatic discharge can damage the unit, causing it not to warn consumers of a fire.
This recall involves Kidde dual sensor smoke alarms model PI2000. The alarms can be identified by two buttons, "HUSH" and "PUSH AND HOLD TO TEST WEEKLY," which are located on the front/center of the alarm. The model number and date code are on the back of the smoke alarm. Only date codes 2008 Aug.01 through 2009 May 04 are included in this recall.
Retail, department, and hardware stores and electrical distributors nationwide sold the alarms from August 2008 through May 2009 for between $30 and $40.
