Duquesne man slain; 2 wounded in Rankin shootings

Police are investigating two unrelated shootings that took place in Rankin and Duquesne last night.

At about 11 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg and a 26-year-old man was shot in the back at Hawkins Village in Rankin. They were both taken to hospitals, but officials have not disclosed their current conditions.

Two hours later, Maurice Malachi of Duquesne, a 22-year-old from Duquesne, was killed in a shooting that occurred shortly before 1 a.m. today on Duquesne Place Drive, near the Hilltop Parkview Manor Apartments. He was taken to UPMC Mercy and died from his injuries.

Police have not reported making any arrests yet in either shooting.
