West festivals

It's a busy time for outdoor activities and festivals in West:

Beaver

The SS. Peter & Paul School sports festival will offer carnival games and prizes, entertainment and food from noon to 5 p.m. tomorrow on school grounds, 370 East End Ave.

The festival will include games such as lollipop tree, slap shot, football toss, baseball toss, cola ring toss, duck pond, pick-a-ticket, pirate's chest, wheel game, hole in one, balloon darts, dice roll and bean bag toss in the school cafeteria.

There also will be a silent auction and raffle baskets of sports memorabilia, autographs from pro football, hockey and baseball teams, and an auction from 7:15 to 8 p.m.

Collier community days

The late William Kerr, a former township resident, who spent much of his life lobbying for the creation of Flag Day, will be honored during the Collier Community Days today through Sunday at Webb Park in Rennerdale.

The festivities will feature food and game booths, activities and -- for the first time -- fireworks Saturday. Visitors are invited to bring non-perishable food items for local food banks.

Festival hours are 5:15 to 9:30 p.m. tomorrow, 9 a.m. until after the fireworks Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Nonprofit groups will operate the booths. There will be ball games, horse rides, a moon bounce and picnic games with prizes. On Saturday, the Groove Merchant band will perform from 7-9 p.m..

Sunday's activities include a fishing contest at the Rennerdale Pond from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Ryan Rhodes' Double-R-Magic performance at Webb Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a bicycle-decorating contest at the Webb Pavilion at 12:30 and a parade in the Webb Park neighborhood beginning about 1.

Findlay

The Dialed Action Sports Team, a new team founded by BMX athlete Brian Cunningham, will present a free demo show at 3 p.m. Saturday at the skate park in the Findlay Recreation and Sports Complex on Route 30 in Imperial.

The high-flying stunt show features bicycle, in-line and skateboarding safety exhibitions with a message for teens to stay drug free and in school. The show will feature three BMX bike riders and one skateboarder.

n Mad Mike's Blues Revue, featuring Cliff Howell and Dan Hanczar of West Allegheny, will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the amphitheater in Clinton Park on Route 30 in Clinton.

Concertgoers should bring lawn chairs or blankets. Refreshments and food will be available.
