A crime scene investigation in the case of the missing tree will allow junior deputies, ages 6 through 12, to learn about Old Economy Village during a summer camp at the historic site in Ambridge.
The camp will be in session from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 3 through 7.
Pre-registration is $100 for Friends of Old Economy Village and $125 for others, if payment is received by tomorrorw. Registration from Saturday through July 24 will cost $125 for Friends and $150 for others.

Vision for Youth, a program to train individuals for global ministry, will present a parenting seminar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 18 at Robert Morris University in Moon.
The program for parents will be presented by Mel Walker, Tim Ahlgrim and Cheryl Fawcett and cover topics such as age group characteristics, the need for a church youth ministry, resolving sibling conflicts and keeping kids busy.

Registration is under way for a two Preserving Food at Home workshops to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. July 29 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 30 at the First Presbyterian Church, 252 College Ave., Beaver.
The workshops will be conducted by Pat Leach, Penn State master food preserver and former extension educator in Indiana County for more than 39 years.
Among the topics will be basic principles of canning and freezing; boiling water bath and pressure canner methods; recommended procedures for canning fruits, vegetables, meats and fish; and items necessary to get started.
Cost of the workshop is $25 and includes a copy of the "Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving: 100th Anniversary."

The Hospital & Health System Association of Pennsylvania has named St. Clair Hospital as a dual winner in its achievement awards program in the patient care and operational excellence categories.
The patient care entry was titled, "Achieving American College of Cardiology Guidelines for Management of Patients with ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction."
The operational excellence entry was titled "Improving Patient Flow in the Emergency Department Using Toyota-Based Methods."
