A state trooper pulled over a van headed westbound on Route 22 in North Fayette last night after he observed the doors were open and a passenger was hanging outside the van.
The driver and the six passengers were intoxicated, police said, and four of the van's occupants, including the driver, had a small amount of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia.
The incident occurred at 6 p.m. yesterday near the Hankey Farms exit. All seven in the van were under the legal age to consume alcohol and were taken into custody.
Curtis Link of Nicktown, Cambria County, the driver of the red Dodge Caravan, was charged with risking a catastrophe, recklessly endangering another person, drugs and several traffic violations.
Kyle Anthony, 20, of Nicktown, was charged with drug and drug paraphernalia possession and underage drinking.
Stephen Pisarcik, 19, of Twin Rocks, Cambria County, was charged with possession of drugs and underage drinking.
James Beiler, 19, of Nicktown, was charged with risking a catastrophe, underage drinking and disorderly conduct.
Mr. Link, Mr. Anthony, Mr. Pisarcik and Mr. Beiler were arraigned in night court. The three other passengers were charged with underage drinking and released to their parents.
