A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle early yesterday in McKeesport.

The accident was reported around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Fifth Avenue and Hartman Street.

The motorcycle rider, Jason Cavanaugh, 31, of West Mifflin, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:35 a.m., the Allegheny County medical examiner said.

It was not immediately known whether anyone in the vehicle was injured in the crash.

McKeesport police and Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating.
