A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle this morning in McKeesport.

The accident was reported around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Fifth Avenue and Hartman Street.

The motorcycle rider, Jason Cavanaugh, 31, of West Mifflin man, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:35 a.m., the Allegheny County medical examiner said. His name had not been released earlier until notification of relatives.

It was not immediately known whether anyone in the vehicle was injured in the crash.

McKeesport police and Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating.
