Two reports have the Boston Celtics reaching an agreement with free-agent forward Rasheed Wallace. Agent Bill Strickland told two newspapers that Wallace, 34, told him to call off meetings scheduled with the Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks. Wallace played the past six seasons with the Detroit Pistons, where he won an NBA championship in 2004.

Triple Olympic gold medalist Jason Lezak will skip the upcoming World Swimming Championships and instead compete in Israel's Maccabiah Games in tribute to his Jewish heritage. The Maccabiah Games are an international competition for Jewish athletes held every four years in Israel. More than 900 American athletes will compete in this year's games, officials said, making it the second-largest delegation behind Israel. The 10-day competition begins next Monday.
