Monday, July 06, 2009

Pittsburgh police have identified a Pittsburgh teenager who was shot and killed late Saturday at Robert E. Williams Memorial Park, located at Milwaukee and Adelaide streets in the Upper Hill, commonly known as the Sugartop neighborhood.

Malik Scott, 16, of Webster Avenue, was found on the ground near the rear of the recreation building. He had a gunshot wound to his torso, police said. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police said Malik had left his house to walk the family dog in the park and decided to stay in the park. A short time later, police said, shots were fired.

No arrests have been made, and police are asking for help in their investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide squad at 412-323-7161.
