A very public robbery Sunday in Carnegie ended quietly Tuesday with a confession to police.
Tracey L. Gianoutsos, 44, admitted that she entered a side entrance at Papa J's Ristorante on Broadway Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday and handed a note demanding money to a restaurant employee.
The note indicated she had a gun, though no gun was seen.
She ran toward Washington Avenue, losing much of the stolen cash in flight. The incident startled passers-by, some of whom provided descriptions for police.
Ms. Gianoutsos confessed Tuesday when confronted by a detective and an officer.
She was charged with robbery and theft and arraigned. Most of the stolen cash was recovered.
