The man who died after a canoeing accident Saturday night in Taylor Township, Lawrence County, drowned, a coroner has ruled.

Gregory Radich of West Pittsburgh was canoeing on the Beaver River when his canoe tipped. He was 46.

Lawrence County Deputy Coroner Richard Johnson said that Mr. Radich was pronounced dead at about 11:30 Saturday night at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle.

He was previously believed to have died of a heart attack.

The woman who was in the canoe with Mr. Radich when it tipped was his fiancee, Dr. Johnson said.
