The city's Fourth of July celebrations will feature free parking at the Grant Street Transportation Center, the Pittsburgh Parking Authority announced today.
The facility, located at Grant Street and Liberty Avenue above the new Greyhound terminal, will offer free parking all day on July 4. It has 991 spaces.
Authority Executive Director David Onorato said the offer will introduce visitors to the new garage and reduce pressure on parking sites near Point State Park and the North Shore, where crowds typically gather for regatta activities and fireworks.
The parking fee at the Authority's other Downtown garages will remain the normal flat weekend rate of $5.
