The death of a 3-year-old girl who was struck by a pickup truck in Lawrenceville Thursday evening was accidental, the medical examiner's office said yesterday.

Nialya Love died of blunt force trauma to the head and trunk, the office said. Police said Nialya was struck about 6 p.m. Thursday, when she darted into the street toward a relative who was waiting in a car to take her home.

She had been visiting a baby-sitter's house in the 4700 block of Hatfield Street, where neighbors said small children are known to play outside at all hours. She was taken to Children's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:52 p.m. Neighbors said Nialya lived on the block until a few weeks ago.

No charges have been filed against the truck driver.
