Westinghouse Electric Co. Chairman Stephen R. Tritch was elected chairman of the board of trustees of the University of Pittsburgh today.

Mr. Tritch was nominated by a board committee earlier this month and succeeds Ralph Cappy, retired chief justice of Pennsylvania, who died suddenly last month.
