Thomas Herzan posted a 3-under par 67 and beat a field of 52 golfers to win the U.S. Senior Open Qualifier held at Fox Chapel Country Club this afternoon.

The victory means Herzan, who is from Findlay, Ohio, earned a spot in the U.S. Senior Open to be held at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana which will be held July 27th to August 2nd.

Only the winner from this particular qualifier is guaranteed a spot in the Open but the second and third place finishers could also be selected as alternates.

The first alternate (second place) was Canadian John Rushnell and the second alternate (third place) was Bentlyville's Philip Ambrosy.

The two finished tied at 70 but Ambrosy missed a par putt on the first playoff hole then Rushnell drained his par putt in order to take second place.
