CHURCH ACTIVITIES

Hempfield -- The Single Adult Ministry of Greensburg Alliance Church, 4497 West Newton Road, will hold its semimonthly Bible study at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and every second and fourth Sunday of the month. Call 724-837-1122.

CONCERTS

Monroeville -- The Monroeville Arts Council will sponsor a performance by the 'Burgh Big Band from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium on the Boyce Campus of the Community College of Allegheny County, 595 Beatty Road, as part of its Pops Summer Concert series. Call 412-373-0277.

FUNDRAISING

Monroeville/Penn Hills -- The following Society of St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores will host their quarterly half-off sale on everything in the store from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday at the following locations. Proceeds will benefit the society's community programs.

North Huntingdon -- The Stewartsville Lions Club will sell chicken barbecue dinners from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Holiday Travel, 12239 Lincoln Highway. The cost is $7, and orders are takeout only. Call 412-751-4308.

Penn Township -- The Ladies' Guild of St. Barbara Catholic Parish, 111 Raymaley Road, will hold a Victorian High Tea, including a fashion show and brunch, at 2 p.m. July 12. RECREATION

Braddock Hills -- Good Shepard Catholic Parish will host Summer Fest 2009 from 6-11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Sacred Heart campus, 1600 Brinton Road. A polka Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Details at 412-271-1515.

• "Fossils," "Penn's Adventurers" program for children ages 9-11 and parent/guardian, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. July 3.

Irwin -- The Irwin Project will sponsor a "Rising from the Rubble Celebration" tomorrow along Main Street in celebration of the completion of one-third of scheduled construction. THEATER

Greensburg -- The Westmoreland Cultural Trust will sponsor a performance by comedian David Brenner at 8 p.m. Saturday as part of hs "Leave 'em Laughing Tour." Tickets cost $25 and $28. Call 724-836-8000.

Wilkinsburg -- The Parks and Recreation Committee will sponsor a talent show and poetry slam from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Penn Avenue parklet as part of its Art in the Park series. Call 412-244-2900.
