Allegheny County officials have accepted a $13 million offer for the sale of One Smithfield Street, the six-story building that houses the county's Department of Human Services.
The sale, which is expected to be finalized in 60 days, has been approved by the county's Industrial Development Authority.
"We're selling the building to a qualified developer and putting it back on the tax rolls, said Dennis Davin, the county's economic development director.
The Department of Human Services will remain as the only occupant of the building, which the county purchased for $8.25 million in 2004.
