No one hurt when plane flips over after landing in Beaver
Monday, June 22, 2009

A single-engine plane flipped over after landing today at Beaver County Airport in Chippewa, but the pilot walked away uninjured despite substantial damage to the aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration is on its way to inspect the plane.

The accident occurred at 2:45 p.m. when the plane, a Piper L-21B fixed-wing aircraft, turned over on Runway 28. The pilot was the only person on board.

"It just flipped over, apparently on a gust of wind," said Jim Peters, an FAA spokesman in New York.

The plane is registered to Air Heritage Inc.
