Pittsburgh Public Schools will graduate 1,705 students at 10 commencement ceremonies today and tomorrow at Mellon Arena and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall.
About 1,000 of these students are eligible for Pittsburgh Promise Scholarships, which provide up to $20,000 per student for higher education. About 850 have submitted applications, 820 of whom expect to enroll in Promise-eligible schools this fall.
Class sizes are: Pittsburgh Allderdice High School, 352; Pittsburgh Brashear, 256; Pittsburgh Schenley, 219; Pittsburgh Perry, 180; Pittsburgh Carrick, 161; Pittsburgh CAPA, 137; Pittsburgh Peabody, 130; Pittsburgh Oliver, 105; Pittsburgh Langley, 88; and Pittsburgh Westinghouse, 77.
