Garden notes: Rose Society Show today

The Pittsburgh Rose Society will hold a free show from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Bidwell Training Center's Drew Mathieson Greenhouses in Manchester, North Side.

Nonmembers are welcome to enter and society members will be on hand to assist in prepping blooms for the show. The prep room opens at 7:30 a.m.; judging begins at 11 a.m. There is a novice class for first-time exhibitors. Rosarians will be on hand to answer cultural questions.

'Great 48' windows

Stained-glass artist Glenn Greene will exhibit "The Great 48," a special series of 48 windows, during a celebration at his Regent Square studio this weekend.

Mr. Greene, who is celebrating 30 years working in stained glass, will provide refreshments and live music from noon to 10 p.m. today and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at his studio, 635 S. Braddock Ave., rear. The 100-year-old building is the former Frank French Machine Shop.
