Beaver County authorities hope to resume their search today for a 17-year-old Brighton Township resident who has been missing since Monday morning.
County Chief Detective Joe Fennych said Jhon E. Loll has not been heard from since he drove to the Community College of Beaver County at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
The youth was seen going into a building at the community college, where he was taking remedial high school classes this summer, but he never came home. His parents then checked with college officials and learned that although he was on campus, he didn't attend any classes that day, the detective said.
His unlocked car was found in a parking spot on campus. And his wallet and other valuables had been left at home, Detective Fennych said.
A Colombian native and upcoming senior at Beaver Area High School, Jhon and his parents, James and Alisa Loll, had argued recently over his grades, Detective Fennych said.
"Most of the time when these things happen, they show up in a few hours. But it's five days now," the detective said.
Police have searched the campus area, with no luck in finding the youth, and hope to get out today to search deeper into woods around CCBC, Detective Fennych said.
