A man died Wednesday morning after a motorcycle accident Tuesday evening in West Mayfield.

Bernard Saalinger, 65, of Beaver Falls, was pronounced dead at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday due to head and trunk injuries, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office.

The accident occurred just after 7 p.m. at 37th Street in West Mayfield, White Township police said. As Mr. Saalinger was approaching the Project Road intersection, he applied his brakes and the bike skidded, the police said. Mr. Saalinger lost control and was thrown from the bike.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
