More rain coming as some areas clean up from storms
Wednesday, June 17, 2009

More rain will be falling across Western Pennsylvania today, while some residents continue to clean up from storms last night.

In Westmoreland County, storms knocked down tree branches and wires, and left more than 3,000 without power. Near Avella in Washington County, high winds damaged a barn and blew down trees.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh says there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms today through about midnight. The main hazard will be damaging winds in some areas, but large hail and heavy rainfall also is possible. With the rains, some areas may experience flooding.
