Water conservation urged in parts of Washington County
Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Residents of parts of Washington County are being asked this morning to conserve water because of low tank levels.

Pennsylvania American Water is asking residents of Washington, East Washington, South Strabane, Canton and North Franklin to conserve water voluntarily. The company requests customers refrain from using water for showers, dishwashing, flushing, cooking or drinking until the issue is resolved.

The voluntary conservation notice extends throughout the day. Customers may pick up water at Trinity High School, 231 Park Ave., North Franklin. The company said it will notify customers of service resumption through its Web site, www.pennsylvaniaamwater.com in the "Alert Notifications" section. Pennsylvania American Water's customer service center phone number is 800-565-7292.
