Attempted homicide suspect arrested in Beaver County
Friday, June 12, 2009

A traffic stop in Harmony, Beaver County last night ended in a brief standoff and the arrest of a man wanted for his role in at least one violent crime, Beaver County dispatchers said.

Police said Quentin Turner was wanted on charges that included attempted homicide, KDKA-TV reported. Dispatchers said he was also wanted on charges including resisting arrest and aggravated assault.

Harmony police stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Beverly Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. because they recognized it as one Mr. Turner frequently traveled in, dispatchers said. When they stopped the vehicle, the wanted man ran inside a house on Beverly, surrendering to police after about 45 minutes without incident.

Police told KDKA that Mr. Turner was wanted on an attempted homicide charge for an April incident in Harmony in which three men beat another man and Mr. Turner fired a gunshot.

Mr. Turner's last known address was not released last night.
