A state police fire marshal has ruled arson was the cause of a house fire in Fairfield Township, Westmoreland County, in May.

Trooper John Andolina said the fire at the Bolivar home of David Wayne McGinnis, 42, at 121 Center St. on May 22 was deliberately set.

No one was injured in the fire which caused an estimated $35,000 damage.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-832-3288
