The Big East announced the home and away opponents for the 2009-2010 women's basketball season and one thing is clear: the Pitt women will play host to several big games.

The highlight of the schedule will be when the Panthers play host to defending NCAA champion Connecticut. UConn is an odds on favorite to be the preseason No. 1 ranked team as they return almost their entire starting lineup and key bench players.

Pitt will also host perennial powers Rutgers and Louisville, as well as the annual visit from rival West Virginia.

The Mountaineers are the Panthers designated repeat opponent so they will also play each other at WVU Coliseum. Pitt also has road trips to NCAA tournament participants Notre Dame, Villanova and DePaul.
