At least six people were injured, including five Greyhound bus passengers, in a collision between a bus and sports utility vehicle on the Parkway West this morning.
State police said the SUV driver suffered the most serious injuries in the accident, which occurred at about 4 a.m. at the Interstate 79 ramp from the parkway.
The vehicle driven by Michael Kuzo, 26, of Oakdale, was traveling at a high speed on the parkway, police said, when it swerved and struck the right rear of the bus. The SUV spun out of control and rolled over several times.
Mr. Kuzo had to be removed from his vehicle by emergency crews and was taken to Allegheny General Hospital with serious injuries. He was listed in critical condition this morning.
The bus, driven by Charles Jones, 64, of Lewis Center, Ohio, became disabled as a result of the accident. It contained 55 passengers, and police said five passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
