Four Penn State football players were named to Athlon's preseason All-American team and three others named to the magazine's All-Big Ten Conference squad.

Outside linebacker Navorro Bowman and tailback Evan Royster were selected as second-team All-Americans and defensive tackle Jared Odrick and center Stefen Wisniewski (Central Catholic High School) as third-teamers. Quarterback Daryll Clark and offensive tackle Dennis Landolt were named to the first-team all-conference team and linebacker Sean Lee (Upper St. Clair) was a second-team pick.

Clark and Lee, who missed last season with a torn ACL, were recently elected as the Nittany Lions' co-captains. Penn State is No. 7 in the magazine's preseason rankings.
