A Beaver County woman pleaded guilty to two federal charges yesterday in relation to a mortgage company she operated.
Ann Marie Tonkovich, 33, of Fombell, ran T&T Financial, a Pittsburgh mortgage broker business that helped borrowers get financing to purchase homes.
According to the U.S. attorney's office, Ms. Tonkovich and one of her employees submitted falsified loan applications that misrepresented the borrowers' finances. In addition, they submitted false supporting documentation, including appraisals, real estate contracts and employment forms.
Ms. Tonkovich pleaded guilty to income tax evasion and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
She will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti on Oct. 9.
