Son of Steelers Harrison released from hospital
Wednesday, May 27, 2009

James Harrison III, the 2-year-old son of Steelers linebacker James Harrison, has been released from the hospital after being bitten by the family's pit bull last Wednesday, Harrison's agent Bill Parise told the Post-Gazette this morning.

James III was being treated at the Children's Hospital of UPMC, but Parise said the child was allowed to return home this morning and is now "doing well." The boy was originally scheduled for release Monday; he was held for an extra two days to reduce the risk of infection.

Beth Tibbott, who is James III's mother, and a family friend were also injured by the dog.

Harrison's mother is staying at Harrison's Franklin Park home to help care for the child, Parise said. Harrison will likely return to football practice tomorrow.
