Last night: Lake Erie Crushers 7, Wild Things 5.

Game recap: Washington blew a 5-4 ninth-inning lead at Consol Energy Park. Jacob Dempsey smacked a solo home run for the Wild Things in the second and picked up another RBI. First baseman Ernie Banks tripled, singled and scored two runs. Lake Erie won two of the three games in the season-opening series.

Record: 1-2, one game back in East Division of the Frontier League.

Today's game: Off day.

Looking ahead: Wild Things return to action at 7:55 p.m. tomorrow with the first game of a three-game series at the Gateway Grizzlies in Sauget, Ill.
