GETout spotlight

Pedal Pittsburgh: May 17

It's a ride, not a race, but in Pedal Pittsburgh's 16th year some 2,000 riders are expected to race to the city to participate in the ride today. Six courses ranging from 6-60 miles in length -- all beginning and ending at the SouthSide Works, South Side -- were designed to showcase the city's diverse architecture and urban design. While pedaling past this year's highlights, the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, Downtown, and the Mount Washington Rain Garden, don't take your eyes off the road for too long. Roads are not closed during the ride. Cyclists share the streets with motor traffic and are required to obey traffic regulations. Helmets are required.
