Talia Smarra's solo home run highlighted a two-run seventh as Sto-Rox rallied to beat Mount Pleasant, 2-1, in a WPIAL Class AA first-round playoff game last night at California University.

Mount Pleasant (13-7) held Sto-Rox (16-4) to four hits through six innings but it doubled that in the seventh.

• Riverside 5, South Fayette 1: Kari Falk had 10 strikeouts and hit a home run for Riverside (15-1) against the Lions (11-6) at South Side Beaver.

• Bishop Canevin 6, Ford City 0: Amber Forrisi and Jamie Kertes had two-run doubles in a six-run fifth for the Crusaders (14-2) against the Sabers (11-5) at Gateway.

• South Allegheny 6, Shenango 2: The Gladiators (15-1) used a five-run fourth to oust the Wildcats (11-7) at Fairhaven Park in Kennedy.

• McGuffey 12, New Brighton 1: Karlie Shriver went 3 for 4 with a home run for the Highlanders (14-2) against the Lions (13-8) at Fairhaven Park.

• Greensburg Central Catholic 5, Burrell 1: Emily Nowicki pitched a three-hitter for the Centurions (12-5) against the Bucs (13-4) at Gateway.

• Deer Lakes 7, Waynesburg 3: Deer Lakes (14-5) had 12 hits against the Raiders (14-5) at California University.

• West Allegheny 8, Greensburg Salem 4: The Indians (12-6) had a seven-run fifth inning against the Lions (11-7) at Gateway.

• South Side Beaver 4, West Greene 1: Pitcher Amber Gates went 3 for 4 for the Rams (15-4) against the Pioneers (10-8) at Burgettstown.
