Thursday, May 07, 2009

An Elliott man was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison this morning for the stabbing death of a 71-year-old Mount Oliver man.

Foteos Soutemenides, 30, was sentenced by Common Pleas Judge Anthony M. Mariani, who convicted him of third-degree murder in February after a non-jury trial.

Mr. Soutemenides was seen scuffling with Richard Revis in his Hays Avenue apartment, where Mr. Revis was later found dead of stab wounds. Mr. Soutemenides confessed the killing to police.

Mr. Soutemenides also is awaiting trial on aggravated assault and other charges for an alleged attack on a sheriff's deputy when he was in the courthouse for his first trial date in August.
