A school bus carrying the Bethel Park High School band to South Carolina was involved in a traffic accident in which a motorist was killed early Wednesday, the school district said on its Web site.

None of the students, teachers or chaperones was injured in the crash, although their bus was disabled.

The bus, transporting the band on its spring music trip for a competition in Myrtle Beach, had been traveling east, just north of Beckley, W.Va., at about 3 a.m. when a westbound vehicle crossed the grassy median.

The other vehicle rolled into a ditch, and the driver was killed, school officials said.

The Bethel Park bus was delayed for about three hours until another one was sent to continue the trip, school officials said.
