State police are investigating a fatal crash involving several vehicles on Route 422 in Armstrong County this afternoon.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of 422 near Mushroom Farm Road in Worthington, county dispatchers said.

Dispatchers said they did not know how many people were injured. A woman who was working on the side of the road as part of a tree-trimming crew was killed, KDKA-TV reported.

Her name has not been released. State police were at the crash scene and weren't available for comment, a trooper in the Kittanning barracks said.
