Ex-bodyguard plans Brangelina tell-all; Knightley's PSA too violent for British censors
Monday, April 27, 2009

Brangelina hopes it'll be don't ask, don't tell-all for their former bodyguard.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly retaining an arsenal of libel attorneys in both the U.S. and U.K. after catching wind of a planned -- and not so flattering -- memoir by the family's former security man, Mickey Brett.

Brett has been shopping around a proposal for a no-holds-barred bio and TV show based on his career as a bodyguard to Hollywood's elite, according to the New York Daily News. Although he plans on discussing his protection duties for Sandra Bullock, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere, it's the Jolie-Pitt clan that apparently takes center stage in his tome, Eonline reports.

Brett has been guarding Jolie since 2001, and while he reportedly has kind words for the Oscar winner, Brett's not so keen on Pitt.

In a development that suggests the worst, the Farrah Fawcett's arrest-prone son, Redmond, was permitted to leave his jail cell Saturday to visit his cancer-battling mother.

Los Angeles Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed to E! News that 24-year-old Redmond received a police escort to and from the Malibu home of his father, Ryan O'Neal. The visit lasted roughly three hours.

"A judge signed a removal order," Whitmore said, adding that the O'Neal family paid for all transportation costs. "Saturday they drove him to visit with his mother.

"It happens sometimes for a funeral or, if someone is gravely ill, someone can be released on a temporary order," Whitmore said, while refusing to directly speak about Fawcett's health.

Casey Aldridge, father of actress Jamie Lynn Spears' baby, and two of his four passengers were thrown from his 2008 Ford F250 pickup truck when it rolled over in Tensas Parish, La. early Sunday, the Associated Press reports.

The 19-year-old Aldridge was driving around 1:20 a.m. with four male friends when he lost control of the vehicle. Aldridge's truck flipped over at least once after he drifted off the road and overcorrected. E! News reports.

Trooper Mark Dennis says Aldridge suffered moderate injuries and was in stable condition yesterday. Investigators did not find cause to suspect drugs or alcohol, but cited Aldridge for careless driving, police said.

Aldridge is a pipe-layer from Liberty, Miss. Spears, star of the Nickelodeon TV series "Zoey 101," is the sister of singer Britney Spears.

Keira Knightley's anti-domestic violence PSA was a little too hard-hitting for the British censors.

British advertising watchdog Clearcast has demanded several cuts be made to Cut, the ad Knightley starred in on behalf of the U.K. charity Women's Aid, claiming the spot's final scenes, in which the star is slapped, pushed to the ground and repeatedly kicked by her boyfriend, is too shocking for TV audiences, Eonline reports.

Women's Aid already has stepped forward to defend the ad and its graphic imagery and to denounce the ruling.

While the ad, directed by "Atonement's" Joe Wright, is still available on the charity's Web site and YouTube, where it has been viewed more than 1 million times, Clearcast is refusing to allow the PSA to be broadcast on British TV screens until the footage is edited.

Monty Python alum Terry Jones is causing a stir in his native Britain after splitting with his missus of 35 years and impregnating his 26-year-old lover, Eonline reports.

According to the U.K.'s Daily Mirror, the 67-year-old Jones and girlfriend Anna Soderstrom are expecting their first child in about six months. The couple reportedly met four years ago when the funnyman paid a visit to Oxford for a book signing. That spelled the end of his three-decade union with wife Alison, with whom Jones has two adult children.
